PRESS RELEASE : KANGAROOT ACQUIRES FIRSTLINK NETWORKS COLOCATION SERVICES

Berchem / Diegem, May 24, 2004 - Kangaroot, the Antwerp based Infrastructure and Linux services company, has acquired the colocation services of FirstLink Networks. The acquisition expands Kangaroot's portfolio of high-quality, turnkey solutions in infrastructure-, Internet and Linux services.

Kangaroot has been a premier FirstLink Networks partner for systems management and maintenance since the start of the colocation service in 2003. This close cooperation between both companies has led to the current acquisition, which has three primary goals : a smooth customer transition, improved service and support quality and an expansion of the product portfolio in the colocation service.

"FirstLink Networks' recent shift towards network maintenance activities and the further expansion of domain name activities, have pushed these negotiations ahead quickly," says Wim Godden, FirstLink's managing director. "We wanted a stable and respected partner for this acquisition. Our customers' well-being and continued service comes first."

Kangaroot is well known as a Linux and Open Source services company but adds a new offering to its portfolio through this acquisition. "We have the idea to bring new and exiting products and services to the colocation and dataserver market, using our expertise in turnkey solutions for ISPs and other large customers," says Peter Dens, managing director of Kangaroot. "The advantage for new customers is the A to Z approach we can offer for their web and Internet related projects. We supply the datacenter, connectivity, infrastructure, hardware and software management and even the software development that connects webservers to database servers on the back-end."

"We chose FirstLink Networks colocation services because of the existing, high-quality network infrastructure, connectivity to large Tier - 1 and other carriers, the good possibilities for expansion and the central location in Belgium, " says Pepijn Palmans, Kangaroot's technical director. '"In short : it's a great colocation service which can be expanded even further, both technically and commercially."

Kangaroot and FirstLink Networks plan to complete the transition by July 15, 2004. Existing customers will see no changes to their contract or prices but only the addition of new services throughout the summer of 2004.
